The Shadows by Jacqueline West



When eleven-year-old Olive and her distracted parents move into an old Victorian mansion, Olive finds herself ensnared in a dark plan involving some mysterious paintings, a trapped and angry nine-year-old boy, and three talking cats.

    OK first of all I read this in less than a day! This book is amazing! I love how the one cat (or witche's farmillar) loves to pretend to be a historical "hero"! It's scarry and funny!

  6. Excuse me bad man HOW COULD YOU DO SOMETHING TO A KID! Trap him in a forest all by himself and then kill him. I think he is dead but I guess I have to read the rest of the series to find out. Anyways, I love Haratio and the other cats ****

  7. The best blue bonnet book I have ever read!!! It's scary creative and very unique. I like how detailed it was. I also liked that you didn't know who was good or evil and that it always kept you wondering. I rate this **** stars.

  9. This book was one of the BEST bluebonnet books I have ever read. It's super scary, yet mystifying. I can just IMAGINE what Spellbound is going to be like once I get my hands on it. I finished in less than a day, but yet it felt like a week because I was so drawn into it. AWESOME!!! ****

  10. This was a great book! My favorite character was Horatio! It took a while to get into it, but afterwards i was moving with the story! It only took me 2 days to get into it!!! ***

  21. i loved this book!!! one of the things that makes me like it so much is that the cats can talk to olive and she can talk back. another reason is because live can jump in and out of paintings

  27. I liked this book. At the beginning, the book was sort of boring, but in the middle it got amazing. I can't believe the paintings were magic. My favorite cat was Harvey. It drove me nuts not knowing who was good or bad.****
