Turtle in Paradise by Jennifer L. Holm



In 1935, when her mother gets a job housekeeping for a woman who does not like children, eleven-year-old Turtle is sent to stay with relatives she has never met in far away Key West, Florida.

    I liked the setting of this book and the details the author used so that I could picture the scenes in my mind. I thought the Author's Note at the end was very interesting and enjoyed seeing the photographs.***

    This book is about a girl named Turtle who has to moved to Key West, Florida due to her mother who got a job where the owner does not like children.This book mixed history with sweet thoughts- LOVE IT!

    I agree with maddie and london beans is pretty stobbern,but my favorite character was buddy he is soo cute and funny for instance, he says things like "I can't find my pants!!"

    even know i had this book before blue bonnets books came out and i saw the book on the shelf i ran to grab it as fast as i could thats how much i love the book i would read it again and again but that would give you a head ech i give it 4 ****

    I loved this book. But i hated the guy that hated kids. But i liked Turtle because of how brave and strong she was. (P.S. LOVE THE NAME) :D. ****

    This book is so good, it's competing for what book I vote for with Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper! This was so well thought, and very realistic. I loved all of the characters, and this book mixed history and imagination together in one long novel. Very amazing! **** (+1)
